Day Trip Itinerary From Arusha To Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is one of the best destinations, offering a rich wildlife experience with a chance to see elephants, lions, giraffes, and a variety of bird species and it is famous for its iconic baobab trees and scenic landscape. Don’t forget to bring if you have binoculars for bird watching and animal spotting, ca camera for wildlife photography, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), comfortable clothing, insect repellent, and personal medication.

 

6:00 AM – DEPART FROM ARUSHA

Your guide will transfer you from the hotel in Arusha as a starting point for departing to Tarangire National Park. The journey approximately takes more than two hours (120 km), the journey will take you to Masai steep with a view of the countryside and local villages.

You will have a short break with a light breakfast or snacks before departing or continuing with your journey to Tarangire.

 

8:30 AM – ARRIVE AT TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After registration and park entry, your guide will provide a brief overview of the park’s wildlife history and the best area to visit. Be open to asking anything concerning the park details and briefing provided by the guide.

 

9:00 AM – MORNING GAME DRIVE

The game drive will start the exploration around the Tarangire River which is the major water source that attracts wildlife year-round. Look out for elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and zebras, the landscape is mixed with acacia woodlands, grasslands, and distinctive baobab trees making it a photographer paradise. If you’re a bird lover, the park offers plenty of opportunities to see species like grey hornbills, bataleurs, and African fish eagles.

 

11:30 – MID-MORNING STOP AT A SCENIC VIEWPOINT

Head to one of the viewpoints in the park where you can take in the stunning landscape, it is a good time for some refreshment, bring a snack or enjoy a drink provided by your guide. Take some time to capture the scenic view of the baobab trees, riverbeds, and any wildlife you might spot nearby.

 

NOON – CONTINUE THE GAME DRIVE

The game drive will continue covering different sections of the park depending on the season, you may witness wildlife interaction such as predators hunting or herds migrating. Also, picnic lunch in the park in one designated area, enjoy a meal surrounded by nature.e

 

1; 30PM – VISIT AT TARANGIRE RIVER

Head toward the Tarangire River where animals gather, especially during the dry season. The River offers a great opportunity for viewing elephants, buffaloes, and waterbucks coming to drink, it is also a good spot for enjoying bird watching with many species flocking to the river edges.

 

2; 30PM – FINAL GAME DRIVE

You’ll enjoy a last game drive around the park before heading back to Arusha, use this time to spot any wildlife you may have missed earlier, also there is a relaxing viewpoint if time permits we will stop at a peaceful area to soak in the tranquility of the park and take a few more photos.

 

3:30 PM – DEPART TARANGIRE AND RETURN TO ARUSHA

The journey will start after an exciting and rewarding day in the park, the driving will begin to Arusha, relax, and enjoy the scenic drive back, refreshing on your day of wildlife exploration.

 

5; 30PM – ARRIVE BACK IN ARUSHA

End of the trip, you’ll arrive back in Arusha in the late afternoon, where your guide will drop you off at your hotel.
